Calculations & Orders
Create orders, manage statuses, and export results.
A calculation (order) is a concrete instance of a configuration with specific parameter values. It represents a customer quote, project estimate, or production order.
Creating an Order
From the configuration page or dashboard, click "New Calculation". Set parameter values to match the customer's requirements. The system computes all formulas, BOM quantities, and pricing in real time.
Order Statuses
- Draft — work in progress, parameters can be changed freely.
- Sent / Pending — submitted for review, awaiting confirmation.
- Approved / Confirmed — approved, parameters are typically locked.
- Production — in manufacturing, order is frozen.
- Done / Completed — finished, read-only archive.
By default Paramiq uses this pipeline, but your workspace can rename or customize statuses. Some older UI labels still show the legacy names Pending, Confirmed, and Completed.
Working with Orders
- Edit metadata — change the order name, customer name, or notes at any time.
- Override parameters — adjust individual parameter values for this specific order.
- View BOM — see the full bill of materials with computed quantities and prices.
- 3D preview — visualize the configured product in 3D (if rules are set up).
- Share — generate a read-only snapshot link for the customer.
Export
From the calculation detail page, export the order as PDF (professional quote document), Excel (structured spreadsheet), or CSV (flat BOM/quote data). Export is available on Starter plan and above.
Nested Configurations in Orders
If your configuration uses nested sub-configurations, the order page shows each nested instance with its own parameters and BOM. You can override parameters per instance and toggle instance visibility.
Use the "Duplicate" button to quickly create a similar order with different parameters — saves time for repeat customers.
