3D Scenes
Build multi-product 3D assemblies with drag-and-drop instance placement.
The 3D Scenes page lets you create multi-configuration assemblies — combining multiple product configurations into a single 3D scene. This is useful for showroom layouts, project assemblies, and complex product bundles.
Workspace Modes
- Inspect — review the scene, focus the camera, and inspect selected instances.
- Arrange — move and rotate selected instances.
- Place — pick a configuration from the catalog and place new instances into the scene.
Creating a Scene
- Go to 3D Scenes in the sidebar and click "New Scene".
- Add configurations by clicking "Add" and selecting from your configuration list.
- Each configuration becomes an instance in the scene that you can position and rotate.
- Scenes autosave — all changes are preserved automatically.
Instance Management
- Click an instance in the 3D viewport or in the Properties panel to select it.
- Shift+click to multi-select instances (in both 3D viewport and Properties panel).
- Use W (translate), E (rotate), V (select) to switch transform tools.
- Multi-selected instances move/rotate together as a group.
- Duplicate, delete, and toggle visibility from the Properties panel.
Object Snap
Snap is off by default — turn it on from the toolbar Snap menu (Grid / Objects / Both) when you want it. With Objects (or Both) selected, dragging an object near another object snaps it face-to-face. The target face glows blue while snap is available; if you commit close enough the snap "locks in" with a brief flash. Works on all 6 faces including top/bottom, so stacking is one drag.
Release the gizmo while the blue preview is visible — the object lands on the previewed face. If no preview was visible at release, the object stays exactly where the cursor was (no surprise jumps).
Properties Panel
The right-hand Properties panel edits position (in millimetres, 10 mm nudge with arrow keys) and rotation (in degrees, 15° nudge) per axis. Move/Rotate icons in the section headers tell you what each block adjusts.
Scene Toolbar
- Workspace bar — switch between Inspect, Arrange, and Place modes.
- Tool selection — Select (V), Move (W), Rotate (E).
- Undo/Redo — Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z.
- Snap settings — grid size, rotation step, snap mode (grid/objects/both).
- Scene settings — environment preset, shadows, render mode, and grid styling.
- Reset Position — moves selected instance to origin.
- Drop to Floor — places selected instance on the ground (Y=0).
- Fit to Scene — resets camera to show all objects.
- Export GLB — downloads the scene as a 3D file.
- Screenshot — captures the viewport as PNG.
Environment Presets
- Default — clean studio lighting, adapts to light/dark theme.
- Day — warm sunlight with sky.
- Night — cool moonlight with stars.
- Skybox — HDR environment for realistic reflections.
Use the Properties panel on the right to edit instance parameters, position, and rotation with numeric precision.
