Paramiq's AI assistant can generate complete product configurations from natural language descriptions. This guide walks you through the process.

Step 1: Open the AI Dialog

In the configuration editor, click the sparkle icon or press Ctrl+K to open the AI generation dialog. You'll see a text area where you can describe your product.

Step 2: Describe Your Product

Write a clear description of your product, including the key parameters, materials, and pricing logic. The more specific you are, the better the result.

Wooden pergola with adjustable width (2-6m), depth (2-4m),
and post height (2.5-3.5m). Materials: pine or cedar beams.
Calculate total beam length, number of rafters (spaced 50cm),
and price based on wood type and dimensions.

Step 3: Review and Refine

The AI generates parameters, calculations, and specification items. Review the preview — it shows counts and a diff compared to your current configuration. If something needs adjustment, type a follow-up message to refine.

You can refine the generated configuration through multiple rounds of conversation. For example: "Add a roof panel option" or "Change the price formula to include installation cost."

Step 4: Apply

Once you're happy with the result, click "Apply to Editor" to merge the AI-generated configuration into your editor. All parameters, calculations, and BOM items are created automatically.

Applying an AI-generated configuration replaces your current editor content. Make sure to save your work first if you want to keep your existing configuration.
